July 4 Fireworks Update

The July 4 Fireworks in the Park is one of the most celebrated events of the year and one we look forward to. We know this event is a long-standing tradition and is important to celebrate our nation’s independence. It impacts our local businesses and supports our tourism economy through the many people who visit our area over the 4th of July holiday.

Due to the Cornavirus pandemic and the NC Governor’s Executive Order 141 limiting mass gatherings, the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has made the decision to postpone the fireworks display at the Macon County Recreation Park.

“This decision was not made lightly. We look forward to the day when we can safely come together for this fun community event again” said Candy Presley, Chamber Board President.

Everyone please have a safe and happy Independence Day.
