Native Ruby & Sapphire Mine – as seen on TV – Whether you are a Rockhound or a novice, Sheffield Gem Mine has fun for everyone.  We offer Unsalted Native dirt dug right at our mine with nothing added for an authentic gem hunting experience!!!  Plus we offer a variety of crafted buckets where you’re guaranteed to find genuine rough gem stones and rocks, which we call “Rainbow buckets”.  Truly a fun learning experience for all ages!

We are not a roadside mine, as we are located in a private spot away from the paved roads.   From Franklin Downtown we are a short drive into the Scenic Cowee Valley,  you’ll leave the paved Leatherman Gap Rd for Sheffield Farms Rd (a 3 minute drive on a dirt road) where you’ll arrive at a peaceful, serene spot, gazing out on a gorgeous lily pad pond and taking in nature while getting your hands in the mud and washing your cares away!!!  We can’t wait to greet you!
