Winter Wonderland Nights

Join with the Town of Franklin for this most wonderful time of year as Historic Downtown Franklin is transformed into a “Winter Wonderland” featuring: living window displays of Christmas & the Holidays, live sounds of the season outdoors at the downtown gazebo and inside stores, FREE holiday attractions (weather permitting), refreshments, hot cider, great sales from downtown merchants and much more.

Franklin’s Annual Christmas Parade

A wonderful tradition falling on the Sunday after Thanksgiving is the procession of the Franklin Christmas Parade.  This year’s theme will be announced soon.

The Parade floats will line up on Church Street entering Main Street through Town Hall’s parking lot.  The parade will continue down Main Street, turning left onto Porter Street at the Lazy Hiker.  Turning left again onto Palmer Street at the red light continuing to the Highlands Road Intersection where the parade will disband.

The parade will feature fire trucks, EMS, police cars, floats, trucks, cars and walkers.

23rd Annual PumpkinFest

The Town of Franklin presents Western North Carolina’s largest celebration of Autumn featuring the World Famous Pumpkin Roll, contests, nearly 100 arts & crafts, food vendors and so much more!

Macon County Fair

The fair will open at 2 pm on Wednesday September 23 and close at 9 pm.  Thursday, Friday and Saturday the gates will be open from 9am – 9 pm.


16th Annual Franklin Area Folk Festival

Celebrating all things Appalachian, this family-friendly festival features live heritage demonstrations, Appalachian crafts, SEBA jammin’ sessions that feature old-time mountain music and bluegrass, Civil War Re-enactors/Camp, kids’ activities, food, textiles and  more.
