Cherokee Legends & Lore

A free program on Cherokee culture will be presented Wednesday, July 17 at 10 am in the Macon County Public Library.  Educator and lifelong student of Native American culture Bill Dyar will share stories based on Cherokee legends and lore, and will show and demonstrate artifacts and implements in this interactive program geared to youth under age 12.  Adults are welcome to attend.

Dyar is a retired Macon County Public School teacher, coach and school principal.  He also was teacher/coach of the Tsali Lodge (WNC’s chapter of the Boy Scout’s Order of the Arrow) four-time national award-winning Historic Group Dance Team.
